Pros

If you're part time, you have the ability to have a very flexible schedule. Great place to work for younger job seekers.

Cons

Once you become full time, schedule fluctuates, unless you're buddy with the department manager. If you're unfortunate enough to become a department manager, there are weekly (Fridays) management meetings where they go over sales and how your department is doing. If you can make the projections great, if not, expect to take a ton of heat. Also the pay horrible and the only way to be eligible for a raise (usually 15 cents for the year!) one must pass a competency test twice a year. After about 8 years or so you'll top out the pay scale and won't be eligible for any more raises. Lastly, when they DID have a cost of living increase, you had to pass the test to receive it and it was only worth an additional 25 cents an hour.

Pros

Assisting guests is wonderful. Knowing they get what they need in a manner that makes them happy. Knowing where products are in order to assist the guests. Providing guests with everything they need to get the job done

Cons

Not enough hours. Full time is a lure that has NO possibility. Getting called off from work because they aren't reaching their ridiculous sales goals in order for managers to get their bonus is a common practice there. Forcing more products on guests so we can Sell Sell Sell for IPS (INSTANT PROFIT SHARING) which only applies to you if given sufficient hours and you won't so less payout too. No consistency or stable working enviroment. Employee's doing contractor jobs inside of store that they have no training or licenses to perform in a commercial business. Possibility of faulty/dangerous job done by employee instead of a professional Having to talk crazy fast like we actually know what they need to give guests impression that we actually know how to fix something
