Pros

Mercer is a place where you can balance your work and personal life fairly easily. There will not be many weeks where you work more than 40 hours. The people are smart and helpful for the most part. It is nice to mix with with MBAs and PHDs each day. Make sure you take the time to research the business unit before you take the job. There are some unique groups and a good fit is essential. Overall its a great place to work and there will be plenty of time to play, especially with coworkers.

Cons

Its a big company, so know what you want.

Pros

Friendly and helpful co-workers, great benefits, and a great work environment. Benefits are plentiful and almost any problem is quickly resolved with care and compassion. Although the pay isn't the greatest, almost everyone is happy to work there.

Cons

At certain times your workload drastically increases as well as stress. Many time consuming menial tasks could be outsourced and or handled more in a more efficient manner.

Pros

- A lot of incredibly talented, but friendly people to work with; - Minimal levels of office politics; - Good support for further studies; - Somewhat flexible work/life balance, depends on which department you work in; - Good opportunities to transfer to other departments;

Cons

- Low pay. Ridiculously low pay compared to competitors and other corporates. - Low benefits. Seriously, employees of other companies less well known than Mercer get more love than we do. Even retail banks pay more than Mercer. - Career progression. It's hard to progress in Mercer. It seems easier to just leave the company for two years and come back rather than stay for those two years in terms of getting a promotion.
