Pros

name brand recognition generally good work life balance - but travel can be an issue for some easy to learn about a wide range of subjects

Cons

very weak senior team not a thought leader - more of a thought reproducer no talent development - senior professionals focused on own careers and don't get rewarded for focusing on people outdated technology extremely redundant and tedious work at all levels manager research is a dead end and the leaders of the group from Europe are out of touch and uninspiring consultancy lacks innovation and generally just overwhelms clients with information not thought leadership

Pros

- Good balance between a professional atmosphere and a culture of caring about your colleagues - As a consultancy, it's a great place to learn how to do your job and do it well - Project-based work means that you'll get to experience a lot of different situations for different clients, and help them problem-solve

Cons

- You'll burn out eventually. Mercer tends to promote a culture of competition, but not necessarily in a healthy way -- it often feels like you're competing directly with your coworkers to see who can work the most insane hours. - Work/Life balance isn't a realistic goal.
