Under resourced. Senior administration wants research productivity but they lack the infrastructure.

The department I was a part of was very toxic. The higher ups would blame me for my mistakes when clearly I was taught wrong from the start. There was no true direction in what my position was to the team. It was like I was hired to just dump duties on and I felt like I was an idiot after every meeting. After my first week it was like they expected me to know everything from my one training and was just not helpful in really any corrections. I always felt lost, then when interacting with students some were fabulous and some were just plane mean and rude. From how toxic it was I actually got ill and was forced to quit due to the unhealthy environment.
