Pros

Friendly co-workers, business casual work environment, holiday bonus, schedule flexibility.

Cons

The company is understaffed and overtime is necessary to keep up with the heavy workload. Employees are underpaid in comparison to competitive insurance carriers. The work morale is low and not what it used to be. Audit requirements are strict and goals are unattainable.

Pros

Are there any? I cannot think of even one good about Mercury Claims Department.

Cons

To much work load for one person, not enough time in a day, MANAGEMENT IN AUSTIN IS TERRIBLE IN THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT, everyone is fake and stabbing you in the back when your not looking, they don't care one bit about the employees, claims needs to talk to take advice from UW department and learn how to treat employee's and keep them around. They play favorites with certain employee's. There are some employee's that get away with stuff that others are getting fired for, because their supervisor covers for them. They really need to get proper training, advice on how to treat the employee's, and a little ethics and moral's. If you are thinking about working here RUN..RUN as fast as you can.

Decent pay, nice co-workers

Pros

Decent pay, relaxed dress code, holiday bonus, steady hours Co-workers are nice for the most part

Cons

Not enough time in 8 hours to give every claim 100% in the last 6 months the volume of work has gotten much higher. Very few opportunities for advancement in the last few years especially. Upper management constantly harps on lowering costs, but doesn't set the example: filling management positions that aren't necessary, etc. CEO means well, but apparently doesn't know how bad morale has gotten.
