Pros

9/80 schedule is nice, decent benefits, and bonuses were great when the company hit goals. Great people to work with, great way to gain experience as a junior engineer! I think the Executive Vice President of Human Resources truly cares about employee morale.

Cons

Scarce resources, outdated tools, little to no automation in current processes. Management aggressively holds employees to unrealistic expectations and goals. Company is working through a resource crisis. Not enough resources to keep up with demand. Rapid turnover isn't helping either. Not recommended to senior project managers, or those invested in delivering product on time, and budget.

Pros

1. Paid Internship & Learning Opportunities Interns report that the position is paid, which is a big plus compared to unpaid programs. You can gain hands-on experience in real projects and learn from engineers in aerospace/defense tech. 2. Friendly Coworkers and Team Environment Many reviews mention nice people and a supportive environment within teams. 3. Work-Life Balance (in Some Teams) Interns have said there was good work/life balance in certain departments. Mercury also generally offers benefits (for full-time employees) like PTO and 401k that indicate they value balance. 4. Potential Growth After Internship If you perform well, there may be room for growth or opportunities after graduation in engineering or related roles. 5. Exposure to Defense & Aerospace Tech You would get experience in a mission-critical tech company, which can be attractive on a resume if you’re pursuing engineering or technical fields.

Cons

1. Varying Internship Quality & Structure Some reviews describe the internship as “soul-sucking” or poorly structured, which suggests experience can vary widely by team. 2. Pay & Compensation Differences While paid, several broader company reviews indicate that pay and compensation may be lower than ideal for the area or compared to industry peers. 3. Strong Push for On-Site Work Some interns mention pressure to work in person, which can affect flexibility depending on your schedule. 4. Management & Organizational Challenges Broader company reviews (not specifically interns, but relevant) note weak upper management, restructuring, and job insecurity, which could influence an intern’s experience. 5. Career Advancement Can Be Mixed Some reviews of the company more generally highlight limited advancement or slow promotion paths, which could affect post-internship prospects.
