Pros

Great learning experience fresh out of graduate school, became facilitated with the computer programs used in admissions department (higher education in general).

Cons

No comment. Prefer not to make any negative comments, it was a phenomenal learning experience.

Pros

Helping students, variety of work since this position is the point of contact for everything, great place to gain experience as a recent graduate. Co workers are young, cool and supportive.

Cons

The pay is so low but expectations are high. PACT Counselors are expected to do everything but do not get paid enough to do it all. Work is not distributed evenly; thus, academic advisors are doing admissions work and admission counselors are doing secretary duties which equates to a hot mess. Tuition reimbursement is now taxed which leaves no real benefits for this position.

No micro-managing. Got along with my supervisor splendidly.

Cons

Upper administration - sometimes it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. I didn't deal with them much, so it didn't effect me that much.
