Pros

Competitive weekend pay. Excellent training for critical care.

Cons

5 weeks onsite training was a big challenge! That plus not making my differential while training onsite or on the unit had me second guessing my decision to switch organizations.

Pros

There really are no pros to this position.

Cons

There’s no growth in education, especially at Mercy South. The Director expects you to be able to help on the units 24/7 when this is supposed to be an 8-5 job. The rest of senior leadership expects education to be able To go into staffing, even when it’s not the safest idea. Senior leadership and management really don’t care about your nursing license, so long as you make them look good. It’s gross.
