Pros

Mercy is a mission-driven organization, but there is a deep commitment to keep an eye to the future, just like the Sisters of Mercy. I know there is often a feeling that an organization like Mercy has become too corporate or strayed from the mission, but I disagree with that assessment of Mercy. Mercy's deep commitment to formation for all their co-workers is evident. Classes, sacred moment stories, daily prayers sent to your inbox, prayer at the start of meetings. Those things are important to keeping me focused on the mission to help our communities, while doing daily work that can feel corporate sometimes. We do need to operate in the business world.

Cons

I've been at Mercy a very long time and I wouldn't have stayed this long if I didn't believe in the mission and the way the organization is moving into the future. There are times when things move very fast, which can be overwhelming at times. That feels like a deep desire to make a people's health care better quickly.
