Great People, Great Values, Poor Compensation

Pros

The culture and values are what make working there so great. The employees believe in helping people, and you can see it in their actions and behaviors. There is definitely a sense of community.

Cons

They are among the lowest paying employers in town. I constantly levied for higher pay for my staff, but they ended up outsourcing the department and paying the new employees even less! Mercy is in a financial crisis right now, and unfortunately there are layoffs and cutbacks that are hitting its employees hard.

Pros

Great values, co-workers are very helpful. The process of hiring was very professional, interview was not too difficult, training was adequate, the beginning was great. Guidelines were easy to follow, to understand. Great

Cons

Health benefits are very costly, hourly rate is low. A lot of work for that money. there are many co-workers who worked not too hard and you would end up finishing it up. Since you are working under the nurse's command, personal connections are vital, up to the point where if you do not know people they will not help you.
