Pros

Nice looking place to work. Good food in cafeteria. Teaches you what not to like and what to look for in a future job elsewhere.

Cons

Pays lower than the national average in all positions. Doesn't promote from within. Starts people off very low. Micro-managing. Not as many holidays off as other companies. Favoritism. Many employees are related to employers and thats how they got their positions. Does not pay out PTO time if you quit within 3 years of working for Mercy. You are chained to your seat and they penalize you for taking bathroom breaks or getting water. Add on more work despite what is described in your job description. Managers do not support employees when there is an issue with another department. Continually raising the collections quota and employees do not get bonuses or get paid on commission. Does not care about the patients at all, only the money.

Work-life balance is great. Frequent and generous training opportunities. The CEO is great!

Cons

Often working without support from other staff or outside vendors. Long hours can begin to wear on you.

Pros

Providing the best service possible for the patients, caring, compassionate, best doctor's ever, well informed and up to date on substance abuse issues. Paid education opportunities.

Cons

They do not stick to their mission values.Poor management, not enough time off-even if you have accrued your PTO "can't take off, not enough coverage," favoritism, too much entitlement of some employees. Not open to hearing how to improve and not business minded. Not marketing and expecting things to improve. No chance to chance to change shift. Made non-essential employees stay in blizzards.
