Pros

The people I work with.

Cons

Forced over time. Dangerously understaffed but yet they still force you to take more patients than your floor can handle. The patients are at risk of injury due to mistakes of nurses. Nurse are at risk of back injuries and losing their license. Health insurance is terrible. Employees can't find primary physicians because so many are quitting. They are unable to get needed treatment. Pay is laughable. Someone is padding the reviews on these sites because you won't find any happy nurses or pca's. Do not work here! I enjoy being a nurse but not here. Forced overtime and being severely understaffed will wear you down.

Pros

Great protocols and equipment. Treat employees good when compared to AMR and other for-profit EMS providers. Coming from Southern California working there as an EMT for 10+ years, the call volume is slow and the schedule is great.

Cons

Just coming into this century when it comes to how EMS is run. They're a little behind but are making attempts to catch up quickly. Also, health insurance coverage is horrific. I thought I had it bad when I was covered by Kaiser back home. But this is really bad. And the fact that all my care is received at the same hospital I work for just adds insult to injury.

Pros

Meaningful work, mission focused. Lot's of great people to work with.

Cons

Non profits always try to push the envelope of doing more with less. Benefits are average and getting worse. Company does not seem interested in keeping long term employees.
