Pros

Pay was okay. Benefits were good. My coworkers were great.

Cons

I cried every day for the first two weeks I worked there. The CEO was absolutely horrible to work with. Some of the executives were nice, intelligent, and problem-solvers, but others just wanted their egos stroked. Coming in with a leadership background, I am a firm believer in servant leadership. That type of leadership does not exist in senior management at MercyOne Siouxland. There is zero trust in employees. No one asks further questions to find out why you may have done something the way you did, but instead jumps to assuming you are lazy and wrong. It’s absolutely a culture of “who can I put the blame on.” Many people come into work everyday miserable, but are so afraid to speak out in fear they will be let go and not heard. I only learned this after leaving, because people are so afraid to speak up, they are good at hiding that they’re miserable there. I kept my head down and did the work, and left on good terms, but it was hard. I would not recommend anyone work at MercyOne Sioux City.
