MercyOne health and fitness center: Flexible but very low pay

During your shifts, most of your time is up to you (how and when you want to schedule personal training clients). If you want to teach a class, they are open to new ideas. During your free time, you can program for clients. Management is nice, listens, and cares for employees.

Cons

Going into the job, I wasn't aware that the medical fitness program (MyFitRx) doesn't count as personal training. Personal training pay starts at $21/ hr and you work your way up depending on how many sessions you do per month. A lot of trainers will make at least $24/hr, Fitness specialist pay is $15 and doesn't increase. All duties in MyFitRx are only $15, So if you do an hour assessment for the program, you get the fitness specialist pay, but if you sit at the desk with downtime, you get the same pay. It creates divisions and people naturally want to stay away from the medical fitness duties simply because the pay gap between that and personal training is so large.
