Pros

None. I just had to write atleast 5 words here.

Cons

Where do I start? Imagine contracting a flesh eating disease. Now imagine being alone on a deserted island. Now imagine contracting a flesh eating disease while being alone on that deserted island. THAT would be better than working at SEDC. This company is an insult to the competent working professional. It’s legit full of corporate rejects (ie people who literally probably could not obtain a job ANYWHERE else). Their billing software product is old and outdated, and it makes it painfully hard to implement it, support it, and/or be passionate about it PERIODT if you’ve worked with any kind of reputable software previously. Employee turnover is high. Coworkers and company culture are weird. Benefits atrocious. Must work there for 2 yrs to receive ONE work from home day (seriously, whose sticking around that long?), and even then the policy is inconsistent amongst departments. They’re cheap (don’t expect a company card or a decent hotel stay if you’re traveling for implementations).

Pros

My team that I work with.

Cons

How long will it take you, Chris Haas to replace the inept staff you inherited with qualified C level professionals who know how to run a company? You haven't made many changes at all but you also haven't stopped your direct reports from constantly changing staff, policies, job responsibilities and more. Surely by now you must recognize who made the mess we have, and they all report directly to you! The dedicated, qualified people who work for the incompetent C Level and VPs are the only reason there are still a few members that don't absolutely hate us. We are holding things together and trying to deliver excellence, in spite of our management team. Chris, please get to work and make changes where it counts. I don't know who made the decision to cut over 100 jobs right as you started, I doubt it was you. I think it was the current C Level, in an attempt to keep their overpaid jobs and maintain the unnecessary top heavy structure. Please get some C level and VPs who have relevant experience and know how to empower qualified employees. Meridian has so much potential, it's sad to see it run into the ground by people who don't know what they are doing and are to self absorbed to care. Wake up and do something before it's to late. I believe that the situation with your members and customers is much worse than you know. Many of the really good employees are looking for other opportunities now that they see how dysfunctional this company is. The employees that are part of the problem, with the old mindset are the ones that need to go. It's a good 'ol boy network where you stay and get promoted because of who you know and who likes who. Experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and performance have nothing to do with job security or mobility. In my opinion, some of our best people were laid off recently because they expected everyone to contribute and do their job and learned the hard way that the "old timers" don't like it when they are held accountable. I hope changes for the better comes soon. I keep hearing that you are a smart guy with a lot of integrity but I don't think you will keep that reputation very long if you continue to surround yourself with the unethical, unqualified, and unprofessional staff that reports to to you. In my experience with them, they are devoid of character and lack the basic qualities needed to lead. They don't inspire their employees and aren't respected by them, some are despised, by their direct reports as well as other teams. In fact, I've heard from a lot of coworkers that many of the C level and VPs can't stand each other.

Pros

Not one thing would be considered a pro

Cons

I’m so shocked that I’m still here. It’s like a bad relationship that you keep thinking may get better. All the time you invest and you think maybe it accounts for something. Everyone had faith and high hopes in the new CEO. There was excitement! There was hope for a better future! There was hope that our careers had not been stifled for no reason. But alas, more disappointment. We heard he was smart and fair and believed in “transparency.” Transparency is being truthful with yourself and others and acknowledging you have a problem; and perhaps making a bold statement with your C-level. Making a statement that they are just as accountable, if not more than everyone else. Just one would make all the difference in the world, even though they all deserve to be escorted out with a parade or party for the loyal employees they abuse on the daily. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to be him and what this organization will do for his reputation. He has an opportunity to earn trust from his employees, but apparently, he will continue to put his faith in the incompetent C-Suite. A C-Suite of people who say “I don’t know” more than they offer a solution to any daily challenge. A C-Suite that can’t make a decision to save their own lives because they don’t want to be held accountable for a decision. Just read the reviews going back more than a decade and you’ll realize this is not a place you want to hang your hat. The executive staff has no clue who they work for. Co-ops don’t care about their inflated egos or their titles. Our members are the best and they deserve better than this circus. They are realizing it too and it’s clear because of the mass exodus happening. It’s a shame too because the potential is really here. All eyes are on you, Chris! * Your C-Suite is abusive and toxic * Your employees are literally ill on Sunday nights * Burnout and exhaustion is this norm * Gossip (primarily from the executive staff) is rampant * HR complaints seemingly don’t matter * Your managers don’t staff and keep adding on workload and pressure to increase the bottom line * You offer no training but expect excellence * None of this matters because they’ll keep getting away with it until you have no company left
