Pros

Great people around. The best I've ever met! Super ambitious goals. Great benefits. WFH flexibility.

Cons

Performance review. It works this way: 1. Leadership escalate project X 2. You clearly don't see any impact of X, but has to disagree and commit 3. You give the project to an eng from your team (even if they disagree) 4. Eng executes the project 5. PSC comes. And eng does not receive credit for X because, guess what, no impact And this loop happens again and again. You build a special skill how to dodge from this crappy non impactful projects.

Pros

Amazing coworkers: everyone is helpful, people really focus on the mission. Unlike similar companies, leadership is open and the higher up you go, the more helpful people become. The company is quite large, but less bureaucratic than you’d expect - they very much want to enable you to do your best work. The pay and benefits are at the very top of the industry: only some fintechs and pre-IPO companies pay better. Very remote friendly and offers a lot of flexibility.

Cons

Working from Europe, the hours are insane. It’s not that you have too much work (although sometimes that, too), but that everyone you work with gets up after 6 PM. Not sure what could be done to fix that, though, unless California people start getting up at 6 AM. The constant changes of direction can be exhausting - I believe leadership that course correcting is necessary, but it would be best if this stuff was done faster and with less disruption. Not really a con for me, but this is definitely not the place to rest and vest - the upside is that you are not likely to have coworkers who are not pulling their weight, but it can be stressful, especially for junior people.

Pros

Great benefits, high comp, and talent

Cons

company changing to scrutinize employee performance. VR culture changing to more tops down decision making.
