Pros

Really good company to work for; people are all very cool and welcoming, ideas are taken on board at every level and you can easily have a chat with the CEO if you need to about anything. Never had that at other companies I've worked for so it's quite refreshing. Loads of perks; snacks, massages, occasional evenings out - all good really.

Cons

With any company you get some internal politics but nothing that is any worse than anywhere else to be honest. Could do with a little more space in the office so we can be a little more flexible in how we work but that's a very tiny minus point.

Pros

Huge potential and probably the largest provider in its space. Aggressively focused on sales so a fantastic opportunity to earn commission in a sales role. Offices are extremely high quality with fantastic perks like massages, food, drinks and very generous social outings for evening drinks etc

Cons

An extremely naive and sometimes arrogant business which from the very top believes in using up human resources at will. There is a significant lack of experience at the highest levels which undermines any experience at the middle and lower tiers. Everything is a debate and everyone knows better, do not expect that experience and skill will count for anything within MetaPack. Technology is of a poor standard lagging 10 years behind the industry which increases effort to develop and also to support services. User Experience is very low and contempt has bred among the customers as they feel exploited. A customer facing role in MetaPack is not a pleasant or enviable role.

Pros

The office is located in a nice area, easy to get to. The cupboards in the kitchen are filled with food, nice coffee machine. Easy to do "nothing" all day as managers seem to not care anymore.

Cons

Don't really know how to start as they are so many bad things. It's clearly a company with 2 sides: very good/good for the business side. Very bad/really bad for the Technology area. No innovation, instead they are walking backwards/ They started an Agile transformation 1 year ago and now they have no Scrum Masters. Just the physical boards, some kind of process and yet, they still say they are Agile. Gossip and rumours all over the place. Have already heard about firing people, moving some of the products to another office, "we are going to be an ITIL shaped company" and, luckily, nothing happens. But it's still enough to scare people. Old employees with clear no value are still kept as it would be too expensive to let them go. New process to evaluate performance that is more heavy than RUP. No ownership about the projects, even people who are working on it don't know what it's all about. Old technology, 2 legacy systems to maintain. No clear direction.
