High hourly wages in relation to skill set required for jobs. Most positions at Metra provide on the job training. Job security (no layoffs in 30+year history of company).

Cons

Limited opportunities for upward mobility. Clerk positions in the field work non traditional hours. Union protection of employees makes it difficult to fire problematic people. Many employees abuse FMLA.
