Pros

Great Benefits and if you enjoy working with Trains and by yourself it is a great job

Cons

Long shifts and extra board may take a while to build seniority and bid on another position. I worked the midnight shift for the first two years

Pros

Management not on your back. Good chance for promotion. Able to move to different shifts and location. Good health benefits. Railroad pensions

Cons

Underpaid compared to other union pay scale. No employee discount on riding trains. Training is horrible. Very weak union support. Top.
