Pros

The pay is better here than other utilities I've worked for. Current management is making a real effort to support, empower and develop employees. I've felt supported here and have had the opportunity to advance, which I would not have had in smaller organizations.

Cons

The site can be difficult to access due to traffic and construction, but that is not unusual in an urban area. Some facilities need to be upgraded or torn down and rebuilt.

Pros

Stable - will always be there.

Cons

I can only speak of the past. Low morale, favoritism, poor employee appraisals. and waste of a lot of rate payers money. Doubts about prevailing wages and raises. No incentive to stay now that the pension plan for new employees id so inferior that of previous employees. Retires have not got a cost of living raise in over 11 years. That means they really could care less about them. The board of directors could really care less about fairness.

Pros

Work/Life is amazing! Benefits are great. Nothing get's done very fast. New District leader is amazing and taking the District in the right direction!

Cons

As a new employee I was unable to negotiate AT ALL with the HR team. The HR team uses "SOME SORT" of process to establish what it thinks is "Market Value" salaries. Which are a little behind times. As well as not allowing for any negotiation of Vacation or Pay. It is a take it or leave it type of offer. I don't think I'll be staying long, as I was not able to get where I wanted/needed/deserved to be.
