Pros

Diverse workforce with some very talented managers and staff. A great place to learn if you are energetic and passionate. A great deal of opportunity for those that work hard and accomplish goals.

Cons

Some staff believe this "city job" is a place to coast. They do not last long and there is a bit of turnover.

Pros

Members and coworkers.Benefits are good

Cons

New CMO and some management staff .CM dept completely disseminated .Job descriptions and qualifications changed .Entire dept of RNs let go.Staff initially told by HR to apply to other depts which some people did.Applications are ignored and they are hiring from outside.Lies and no respect for employees although some employees do get unfair special treatment from management .Its who you know and who they like.Definitely no job security since new CMO hired and oh almost forgot ,we waited 6 yrs for. a raise.

Pros

Government job, standard benefits, noble mission to serve the NYC population. Excellent place to retire. Nice location by Seaport.

Cons

Little to no leadership, leadership is from the bottom up. Systematic abuse of power by executives to encourage nepotism and skim off city funds to award contracts & management positions to friends. Substandard salaries for those who are not "favored". Raises are non existent ; unless you are "favored". Not the place to be if you want to grow your career and develop your skills.
