      Pros

      Salary, vacation and sick time. Good benefits and a fair retirement.

      Cons

      Sometimes you need to know someone to go up the ladder. This same reason affects your job if the person above you was picked thru friendship instead of knowledge and experience and can make your job more difficult or impossible.

      Pros

      Colleagues and co-workers were great at the Department I worked at (Parks). Good benefits and pension if you stay long enough.

      Cons

      Very bureaucratic. Must please Commissioners and Mayor with their demands on top of everything else you have to do, otherwise you get reprimanded. Understaffed and underfunded department (Parks). No room for advancement.

      Pros

      Everyone in the office was extremely friendly and helpful. They are always making sure you are comfortable and offer help. Good pay, easy job.

      Cons

      No free parking made a long commute by train necessary. Not much to do for interns means long periods of doing nothing.
