There is no hiring process so anyone can get a job. In addition to a shortage of student workers, the university has chosen to hire temporary staff who often look and act like criminals. Skipping out of work early, stealing food and eating during their shift (not on breaks), forcing students to do most work, and just being unpleasant in general. The student managers are not trained very well either. I was berated by a Student Manager for supposedly not doing my job. I was responsible for cleaning several rooms from the tables down to mopping by myself in two hours, total area of about 120 square yards. I was working the entire time, and several times noticed the student managers standing around texting and flirting with each other. When my area was not completely done, they became hostile and accused me of slacking off. I told the staff management, and nothing was done. The student managers only do as they are trained. No one looked at the process and attempted to fix it, just accuse the hourly employees for a humongous task not being done by one person.

Some administrative politics, policies can be challenging. Technology needs are falling behind other universities in the area. Hard to get hired on full time. Constant changes to the system make every one confused.
