Pros
Direct coworkers are great. The company is made up of a lot of young professionals trying to make their mark in the world and all are friendly with each other. Projects come often and billability is virtually never an issue. Balance with home life is good. Company provides lots of free events for employees throughout the year.
Cons
The company is overwhelmingly oriented towards profit. Its Benefits team apparently can't negotiate a good deal to save their lives, as the cost of insurance is absurdly high and increases about 50% each year while benefits actually get worse. We are without a doubt, and it can be proved, paying significantly more for significantly less. At the same time, our sick time was all eliminated and bundled in with vacation as PTO (without an actual increase), our number of holidays was cut, and most recently those cell phone plans that the company subsidized for all the cell phone use that its employees--as an engineering company--needed? Well they cut those, too. Pay for them yourselves, here's $35 a month for your trouble. IT was laid off nationwide, leaving a total of five people to manage the entire country's IT problems. Employees are leaving in droves, every week there's a farewell email.
