Pros
Management has realized that happy employees are productive employees and is making an effort to make the workplace better than it has been in the past. It's a more laid-back environment and, depending on the department, there is a lot of freedom. They did a lot of downsizing over the past year, but truthfully, many of them were dead weight and the company is better for it.
Cons
Not every manager subscribes to the theory about happy employees and still rules their department with an iron fist.
