Pros
A good place to work while enrolled in school. As my position was an assistantship, my tuition was payed for with benefits and a pay check on top of that. The position left plenty of time to do school work along side the job. Lot's of learning opportunities if you take them. If you have ideas on how to improve the departments hardware and software services, they are more than happy to let you take the project on.
Cons
Management could actually give more work. Sometimes there is a lot of downtime which is great if you have projects for class, but boring if not. If you are taking this job to help pay for your Masters/PhD program, it might be better to get a RA/TA position for the experience, unless you plan to be in a field related to IT support.
