Pros

I've had a LOT of jobs. Micro Center I've now been with since 2020. They actually watch closely and have systems in place which allow them to reward high performance. I've always been a hard worker, but this is the first place where management is on the lookout and doesn't reward hard work with just more work.

Cons

Very old-fashioned equipment, computers from 1994, software that hasn't been updated in decades, ties and uniforms the same -- no updates in decades.

We believe a commissioned environment does reward associates for their hard work and knowledge. We are updating stores and opening new ones, we do allocate our resources to prioritize the most needed areas. People are nice. Employee discount is great for everything in store. Commission can be good.

Cons

Big focus on selling plans for commission. Unclear policies or unequal enforcement of policies.

Having our Front-end Associates help customers with plans allows our Customer Service Associates to earn anywhere from $2 - $4 per hour on top of their hourly base rate. We try to be clear about our policies, how our policies are administered, and where they are available to our associates on People Assist and our Operations Station.
