Get extra money whenever you sell warranties Discount on products Friendly co workers

Cons

They push you to sell warranty and will hound you and put you down if you miss one. Mangers will judge your sales based on genders Many customers will treat you poorly and as if you know nothing about computers or products. 10 -12 hour shifts even if part time.

Pros

Pretty good benefits package. Decent vacation time for retail work. Fantastic discount on protection plans and cables. If you're a nerd in any way (music, games, tech, etc.), you will make really great friends.

Cons

Commission is obscene and there is a huge pay disparity across departments. "Work to earn your wage" yet also work for $4/hr during "non-selling hours" (which is a metric that corporate measures a store by - how much time do your employees spend working during non-selling hours). Management and human resources is useless, if you ever have an actual issue with a fellow coworker, go straight to the law because higher-ups turn a blind eye to their own rules. Work/life balance is atrocious. Moving up is nearly impossible unless someone leaves.

Start working in Tech, become familiar with the products and use cases through exposure and practical experience, decent basic training programs for technicians, opportunities to get certifications paid for.

Cons

Sweatshop mentality, management has inconsistent goals for employees at times, heavy workload amplifies any minor issues
