Pros

Flexible Schedules, Great If going to School, Have the potential to earn good money, even part timers get some benefits like vacation time, popular sports game are played on the biggest television in the store (turned off if it affects work), it is possible to get away with doing little to no work, must pass assessment to be hired so employees are more competent than normal

Cons

Management is not good, promotions based of company politics not merit, managers can not motivate, many employees are lazy, most employees were hired because of a friend worked there, if you actually work you wont make much money unless you are extremely lucky, majority of employees in BYOPC and systems only care about money, character of employees is questionable, employees will take credit for things they didn't help customers with, its retail, basic retail issues (annoying customers, incompetent management, lots of work, ...), salespeople earn more than management therefore if you are a good salesperson you will need to take a pay cut to move to management, all managers close differently and prioritize things differently, get paid $4.00/hour pay is based off commission so if you work you make less money than if you focus on selling, many more cons to mention but time is limited if i can edit this later I will overall bad out ways the good

Pros

Micro Electronics gives you the oppurtunity to grow within the company. It continues to hire within and supports their associates with training, good pay, and great benefits. I have made a long career here at the company with great support from Senior management, and reccomend this company to anyone looking for a great place to work.

Cons

Benefits are above average here at Micro Electronics. I would like to see more options with our current 401K plan.

Pros

Nice coworkers. They work around your school schedule. The General Manager at my location was amazing. He was very professional and gave all employees a fair chance. In Columbus, you have opportunities to move to Corporate since headquarters are in Columbus as well. Customer Service is their number one priority and most of the customers were friendly. The owner, John Baker, created a solid company foundation.

Cons

Several managers were very passive aggressive. As an aggressive individual who was up front and wanted to be told straight up about issues, this was very annoying. It is also very cliquey. They promoted based on friendship and whom they liked, not who would be best for the position. You get paid decently, but it is hard to make more than 13 dollars an hr. They don't give raises, you get 4 dollars an hr, pooled commission and sales commission. "Selling more is how you get a raise". I can't control customer traffic so it's hard to get a "raise". Yes, you can make more money in the computer dept, but there are several old dudes that have made a career out of sales. It's hard to get back there. Also, many of the employees have settled for staying there forever. Because of this, many were bitchy and found reasons not to like other employees. Some had no backbone and talked behind the backs of other employees. The management makes too much money compared to the sales associates who are actually making the company money. I have so much more product knowledge than management, but got paid a bunch less. Some managers would bad talk employees to other employees. That is SUPER non-professional.
