Pros

Employee discount is great on protection plans, food & drink, cables, peripherals, etc (not so much on bigger items on computer parts, laptops, TVs, etc). A roster of employees with similar passions & interests. Opportunity for advancement or extra commission.

Cons

Mid-Management isn't super inspiring and only cares about selling protection plans. Pay is great if (and only if) you are a natural salesperson.

Thanks for telling us about your time at Micro Center. Quick fact, most of our associates were customers before they started working for Micro Center. This is a huge advantage as they have a passion for our products and are authentic when it comes to customer interaction. The Columbus location has an internal promotion rate of 63% which is a testament to the leadership team and their commitment to developing themselves and others. At the GM level, Micro Center has promoted 23 of the 26 GMs which is an outstanding 88%. Micro Center is committed to the employee experience evidenced by our Best in Class employee discount program, benefits, training, and opportunities to grow. Although sales are a big part of the job at Micro Center, there are training and tools that are offered to allow our team members to achieve financial rewards. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. Best, Greg Nicolai Regional HR Manager – 513-344-8018

5 Stars, thank you for the great rating! You touch on a lot of things that make our company the Best Consumer Electronic company out there. You mentioned teammates and managers, they are the backbone of our company. The leadership team at the Duluth store exemplifies our core values, “The Gear”, which is to take care of the customer, merchandise, store, and culture. At the same time, they develop themselves and their associates in the store. October was a big month for Micro Center, where the senior leaders went to our corporate offices for training and development and were tasked to roll it out to the teams in the store. I have no doubt that the Leadership team in Duluth will embrace what they learned to make everyone better and ready for the upcoming holiday season. Another element that separates Micro Center from other retailers is the knowledge that our commissioned sales associates pass on to our customers. As a result, the average sales associate store-wide makes 24.00/hour and the Systems Sales associates department averages 35.00/hour. Part of the role of a sales associate is merchandising the store, but great merchandising allows a great customer experience with easily found products that keep our customers coming back to shop at Micro Center. Feel free to reach out if you wish. Best, Greg Nicolai Regional HR Business Partner - 513-344-8018

Thanks for taking the time to write your 4-star review. I am glad you brought up our great benefits program at Micro Center. Prior to our 2023 Benefits open enrollment, Micro Center added and enhanced their benefits for their Full-time and Part-time associates. The changes were in large part due to the feedback we received from associate surveys, reviews, and store visits. The company added a 401k match, paid parental leave, hospital indemnity, and a telemedicine option for our part-time associates to receive medical care. Micro Center also enhanced vacation accrual, accidental and critical illness plans, and upped our vision coverage. Stay tuned for the enhancements to our 2024 benefits plans as we are getting ready for open enrollment. Also, Customer Service Representatives like most positions at Micro Center have additional earning potential on top of their hourly wage which currently is about 2.48 an hour extra. Feel free to reach out to your supervisor and ask how you can earn more money. Thanks for all you do! Best, Greg Nicolai Regional Human Resources Manager - 513-344-8018
