I am glad that the pay and hours exceeded your expectations and Micro Center is a best-in-class retailer for Customer Service. The leadership team at the Westmont store historically rated very high with the associates. The last five employee surveys regarding the leadership team averaged the following. GM - A, Senior/Top Level management - A-, and My Manager/ Supervisor - A-. The feedback that we receive from our associates in regard to the surveys is voluntary and confidential. Pros

Great place to start off at and its good experience. Benefits are great but sadly they are cracking down on it and putting it on a very tight leash....

Cons

The senior management, the ones passed the store General Manager are horrific and DO NOT consider every store individually, they consider it by region and which store in that region does the best. So when they say you can make UP TO $25/hr you will literally bust your b***s to get make a scratch at $25/hr.

Our Technicians are rewarded based on their ability to provide total solutions to our customers regardless of which store it is. Our base salary of $15 per hour plus additional commission allows Techs to earn more based on the type and volume of service provided. While our average pay rate is $22-$23 per hour, about 25% of our Technicians make more with some making as much as $36 per hour. We'll work with our leaders to ensure they are coaching and providing feedback to our Technicians so that they can serve more customers. Best of luck to you. Angie Miller VP-HR

Generous discount Cool coworkers Lots to learn on the job

Cons

Terrible upper management staff outside of the front end Pay is not that good for the front end staff, and laughably low for front end leadership positions Constant mistreatment of the front end staff by customers which always results in the unruly customer being rewarded no matter how degrading or mean they are Complaints to general manager constantly deflected or he says “we’re working on it” with no updates. Understaffed constantly because the front end turnover rate is so high due to many things Long lines that are physically impossible to keep up with Being asked to meet impossible goals Front end is expected to forfeit rightfully earned protection plans, which is extra commission pay, for the sake of padding the sales teams numbers Front end leadership is expected to be on a register pretty much all throughout the day despite constantly needing to be places and do things Constantly asked by upper management to do things outside of your job requirements Work-life balance is very hard, especially if you have a family

Thank you for your feedback. We have made strides in the hiring process recently and should be close to being fully staffed on the front end. Hiring the right people and having the right number of people is very important to decreasing turnover, taking care of our customers and allowing associates to have a better work life balance. We have also looked at the market and made some other exciting changes too. I am sorry that you left without speaking to someone about your concerns, but we do wish you the very best and hope you find what you are looking for in your career.
