Pros

Employees in entry level roles can gain access to advanced positions with much better pay in little time.

Cons

Facilities are dated. Initiative fatigue is fairly common.

As a long-term associate, I am excited that you continue to rate as a 5 Star employer. Micro Center puts a lot of resources into training and developing our associates. There is nothing better than promoting individuals who had the drive and energy to grow their careers. It is truly life-changing for the associate and beneficial to our company. There have been changes in the retail landscape and through our company initiatives we have been able to navigate the tough retail environment and continue to grow. We really appreciate your team delivering on those initiatives. Micro Center is a big box and high-volume retailer, our buildings do get a lot of wear and tear which can make them look dated. As we are opening new stores there has been a refresh on the layout and overall appearance. Thanks so much for your feedback, Greg Nicolai HR Business Partner - 513-344-8018

Pros

Good pay when you actually sell. Good co-workers. Fun to talk about what your passionate about and keep up with the latest technology.

Cons

But the employer asks you so do everything else in the store when you aren't selling. Stocking, merchandising, cleaning, warehouse work. You come in two hours before the store opens to put away about 5 plus pallets of truck and hundreds of loose product at $4 an hour. Or you stay 2 hours after close at said pay to clean, stock, and straighten. Expect to not have a life outside work as hours are usually long and completely random. There are at least 6 different shift blocks.

Pros

Cool culture and great environment to see new and current tech being offered.

Cons

Retail hours and disliked slow days with a few extra co-workers asking the same customer, "if they have been helped".

Great; another 5-Star review. It's great that you enjoy the culture and environment here at Micro Center. Yes, sometimes retail can be challenging, but it takes good people with patience to care about our customers, thank you. Sincerely, Leslie Whitley Regional HR.
