Good Company, Easy Job, No Room to Advance

Pros

I had a flexible schedule. It was a easy job. You can bring in a boom box and listen to your own music.

Cons

There's no room to advance. All the better jobs are taken and they don't want to leave. So the wait is till they retire.

Pros

Awesome coworkers, they're honestly willing to help you even if they work in a different section. Teamwork is great, communication among employees is great, and most customers are relatively decent or patient too. If you work here, you're very likely to make a lot of friends that you associate with even after you leave.

Cons

Management agendas come into play too much, often top selling employees would get stuck in a more mediocre position to increase income at the expense of the employee where as "suck ups" would get a promotion the clearly were not able to handle. Minimal promotions occurred yearly, employees would be scheduled for hours they told management conflicted with their schedule (often school), yet management demanded they work or they'd be out a job. Focus of store also seemed to shift from customer service to solely increasing profit. At the end of they day, you're expected to do a lot for less than stellar pay (slightly better than best buy I guess). Just remember, it's retail and at the end of the day, you're expendable.

All staff is very friendly and hardworking, and stores are very organized. All in all, Micro Center is a very enjoyable workplace.

Cons

Offices were not up to date... but are now being remodeled.
