Pros

well the pros are good training pay good people and co workers to be around management is willling to work with you when it comes to having days off very relaxed chill atmosphere

Cons

Small and very little pay for hard work depending on what position you get placed in Roaches and other insects in the break room unclean environment dust every where you look. Having to stay overtime the time you were scheduled to leave. Rude customers long time on your feet at least 10 hours if not more.

I have followed up on these concerns and have verified that the breakroom is clean and pest free. (This issue happened more than six months ago from what I understand). We try to balance associate schedules with customer needs as best we can. Thank you for sharing your insight.

Stressful, high potential earnings

Pros

If you already know how to sell, this place can make you a lot of money. All sales positions are commission based, with a $4 hourly rate. You will start off in the lower end departments, but if you prove yourself you can quickly make your way to selling TVs/PCs/Macs/Build components where you can earn a lot on busy days.

Cons

Commission means your earnings will be inconsistent. You are also not just a salesperson, so you will be often be working two hours either before or after the store closes, where you're only making your $4 hourly rate. Huge focus on numbers. Not only do you need to sell, you need to sell what the company wants you to sell. Every month you'll sit down with your manager and discuss the specific things your department is supposed to sell, and how you're doing compared to everybody else. Management will constantly be breathing down your back, even on slow days when there's not much you can do to drum up business. If you can deal with this, and intend to have a career in sales this can be a great place to work.

Pros

so far this job is a god send. the hours are mostley flexible for me as some people need the hours i want. the pay for me is amazing. i make 9.50 flat rate plus i average at 12.00 with commission. i feel like family even after such a short time. the management is amazing and keep us up to date on how we are doing as a team. they have recognized me for top sales in the month of march and i made employee of the quarter in my first to months and received a gift from the operational manager. all in all no job i have ever worked has ever recognized me for anything i have done. i have learned a ton from this job and because of this i can use the knowlege for other things in life. my overall favorite things about MicroCenter is tied between two things. One is that its a privately owned company. The reason this is so wonderful is that the owning party actually cares about its company, not just the money. Two may very from one location to the other but in brentwood we actually care and put the customer first as much as we can. obviously not all situations should be that way but when the customer is right, they're right. its a wonderful place to work and promotions depend on work effort not relation.

Cons

at the moment im not a fan of full shift standing but ill get used to it and the managers let you take a break if you get slow. the hours can be long at 10 hour shifts but its not to bad. co workers can cause problems but every job will have a few of those.
