Pros

- Discounts - Discounts - Discounts - Discounts - Discounts

Cons

- The workload for what you get paid is poor, especially if you work in the General Sales department you will work more than you earn. - Your hourly rate is 4/hr with a commission scale that won't see you making more than on average, 18/hr unless you're one of management's favorites, work you bu*t off (camping around hot commodity - high priced products, being shady towards other coworkers) or have been there 10 years plus, or in a different department (Build your own, Systems) - You're required to be a warehouse employee and a sales employee, with you having to come in at 7 am every week to put up inventory. The worst part is that the majority of the days you come in to put up inventory, there will be so much of it that you won't get to it all in time for when the store opens, so you will be required to keep putting products up till it's all gone, eating away at your sales. What's the point of hiring warehouse/inventory associates if sales associates have to put up inventory? - You will STAND ALL DAY, go sit in the break room at your discretion because opportunity cost will eat at your potential earnings. - You will have a passive-aggressive General Manager who cares more about the company's numbers than your well-being. - Your supervisors will be lap dogs for the GM and only tell you to work on your downtime when he or other district managers are at the store - You will experience favoritism, and there will be certain departments (service department) you will probably never work in because the management in those departments promotes employees on favoritism rather than merit. -This job is perfect for those who want to be stuck working retail for the rest of their lives! But hey! Tech experience, am I right?

Pros

Unlike typical retail jobs, working at Micro Center offers the rewarding experience and satisfaction of being a solution provider in the technical world. It’s not just about selling products; it’s about helping customers find the right technology solutions for their needs. Professional and dynamic work environment. Great compensation and benefits. Fantastic company culture with significant investment in training and development. Support for a healthy work-life balance, crucial for long-term job satisfaction and well-being. Employee discounts on products and services, which is a significant plus for tech enthusiasts.

Cons

The work environment can be very busy during weekends, so you have to be willing to work weekends. However, more sales mean more commission, which can be a great incentive.
