Pros

Competitive pay structure for both Sales and Management. Plenty of growth available if you work hard. Paid Holidays Our CEO Rick gives us off on Thanksgiving / Christmas / New Years Day / Easter to spend with family / friends. Willing to work with you if you go to school or have other issues that arise. Great culture that makes working here fun with as little stress as possible. When was the last time you have heard of the managers washing employees cars and throwing them a BBQ for a good job. Most likely you have not experienced it, but that has happened here!!! Very much a family atmosphere which is a great thing.

Cons

It is retail. No one really likes working retail hours let's be real here. Hours can be longer than other jobs. Holiday hours are bit longer but if you work commission you can make the best money this time of year.

Pros

Micro Center has always been customer-service focused, but emphasizes on a set of philosophies called the GEAR. Customers, the Store, the Merchandise, Self-Development, and Culture. These aspects are what makes this company to continue to function. It doesn't have the feel of a hardcore corporation with superiority complexes from management, but in that every person in the company whose position is as just as significant as anyone else, from warehouse to cashier, from sales to management, to technical aspects. There is flexibility, a welcoming open-door policy, no one is ever "afraid" to speak to any level of management or anyone else in the company, and there's personality that makes you feel like you're at home. They truly do care about you, here. Having Thanksgiving off, Christmas, and New Year's Day really does help knowing that family is important above all else. It's good to have a tightly-knit team of staff, but it's also good to maintain a positive connection with ones' family.

Cons

The store from time to time can get to disarray, due to a large influx of customers at odd hours of the day, early mornings and late evenings, and sometimes cleanup can be impossible to complete. How business is done here doesn't really make it possible to have everything 100% immaculate, though it does what it can. There can be scheduling conflicts at times if not properly communicated between staff and management, although that is rare.

Great Place to work

Pros

Unlike other retail companies Micro Center does not achieve its success out of threating their employees. They achieve their success by offering employees a decent work/life balance, giving the tools to succeed, the right training, and most of all hiring the RIGHT people for the job.

Cons

Tend to be TOO lenient with certain areas Reports tend to be all over the place, a streamlined reporting system would make work a lot more efficient.
