Dealing with a lot of customers with problems not to do with repairs eg. regular retail complaints Doing 5 jobs for the pay of one Forced to make good commissions to make a living

Pros

Fun hobby to build your skills. You’ll get the opportunity to network with people in the IT field to eventually get a career. You’ll have room for lateral movement if you associate with the right people.

Cons

If you aren’t white, you won’t get promoted any higher than a junior management role. Strong, STRONG racial overtones for management. 4$ an hour job plus commissions for sales. Minimum wage plus commission for cashier jobs. Sales based skill-centric pay as a technician. You are asked to sell service items and a fair portion of pay (anywhere from 0% if you do no sales, up to 20% if you’re a sales superstar ON top of being technically skilled) is based on these sales. Promotions are based off of who you suck up to rather than performance.

Pros

Start working in Tech, become familiar with the products and use cases through exposure and practical experience, decent basic training programs for technicians, opportunities to get certifications paid for.

Cons

Sweatshop mentality, management has inconsistent goals for employees at times, heavy workload amplifies any minor issues
