Pros

Probably above-average stability for being a US-based semiconductor company in 2015 Good work-life balance

Cons

No creativity in this company's DNA, same emphasis on revolutionary products as you'd find in the gardening tools and dress sock industries Headquarters are far away in a low-cost-of-living state, severely limits career paths as well as hopes for competitive salaries

NCG review

Pros

MCHP tries it's best to keep it's employees through any hardships. For the most part the company is "relaxed" as a whole. One has almost zero worry about loosing his/her job at MCHP. Great place to start out of college, but not the best if you want decent money compared to your graduating peers.

Cons

MCHP is acquiring company after company, which is good for the company but has started to shift the core ideals this company was founded on. A new influx of work has flooded the current staff with the new acquisitions. The salaries for NCG are not competitive. The company touts it's compensation is based on the market to encourage better involvement and ownership of work. While this sounds nice and to a point is true, it's really just their excuse to pay you less if you'r e new to the industry.

Microchip is very proud of our stable workforce. At Microchip you won’t find that we layoff large numbers of employees in order to control expenses. We control expenses through diligent management practices. As a unique benefit to our New College Graduates, Microchip grants stock to all employees. Our employees really appreciate our total compensation philosophy, which includes granting stock, providing an outstanding Employee Stock Purchase Program and Quarterly bonus payouts. Go to www.microchip.com for more information on our benefits. An important value at Microchips is profits provide for everything we do. This is supported by our acquisition strategy which provides more products and more challenging work for our employees.
