Advancement and responsibility increases does not equal higher pay (I only make a little more than $3,000 than my new hire with 0 years of experience vs my current 10 and being a lead engineer while my older team members are make >$20,000 less) Expectations continue to increase with emphasis on “doing more with less” Management does not care about fair compensation but preach a “don’t compare you salaries or you’ll always be unhappy” attitude

Pros

Micron offers a welcoming environment with more benefits than any other job could offer. They regularly reach out for feedback (hence why I am writing this review), provide means for health and hygiene, assist in tuition costs, the list goes on, I got a jumpstart on my career, coming here. While I do stick out for my age, I still feel welcomed, wanted, and included.

Cons

The Boise site is going through some growing pains as we are preparing to expand to the new site (this being written in January 2025). While certain positions offer some flexibility with working from home, it is not as welcomed as it could be. I would say the only other con is that, while it is a safe environment and no one talks about anything controversial, it feels like you can't talk about anything controversial (1984). Although, I have not seen any consequences for doing so.

Pros

Very large corporate, which gives you a tremendous opportunity to learn new things and grow. They like to promote from within so as long as you are researching and learning, you'll have a shot at a new role.

Cons

The further up the ladder, the more difficult work becomes. work/life balance suffers, but I think this might be the same with most positions at the top, especially in tech.
