Pros
The internal audit function at MidFirst allows you to see many aspects of banking, primarily through compliance and risk mitigation. I absolutely loved the shifting environment the first three years into my 5 years with the bank. I was able to work with the leaders of the organization by understanding the current direction and planned direction, while working closely with them on the ever-changing compliance landscape after Dodd Frank. I would likely still be working for the Bank if I had been able to get out of the internal department. The group was great, it just got to the repetitive nature that left me wanting more around year 4. I would definitely recommend the Bank, benefits were incredible and there was so many lifetime employees, it was obvious to see they care bout their employees.
Cons
The culture at time had the feel of a small 15 person company, where the CFO had to approve the purchase of a computer for our department. Oversight can be positive in the right size but here it was an inherent delay when our Senior Vice President's authority was limited to a $500 approval authority.
