Pros
They have a solid benefits package that I have not seen with any other Employer. Everything from the standard HSA and PPO to free Cable/Internet/Landlines services. Pat and Tom McAdaragh are overall great leaders for the company. My direct manager and his manager are solid people. Midco has been around 90+ years is genuinely the best in the business compared to their direct competition. My direct managers are very open to hearing concerns.
Cons
Starting pay and annual raises are great if you're starting your first full time job but not enough to raise a family unless you're a top performer. Even then, it's not great. Career opportunities from an entry level position leave a lot to be desired. Almost every non-customer facing positions require a degree however, Midco does offer a reimbursement opportunity. The internal systems also leave a lot to be desired for a tech company. The network itself and the infrastructure that runs the services works great but the account management tools lack reliability and are highly antiquated. Sales goals only go up annually and have become increasingly difficult to meet expectations and make bonus. If you use the PTO, your goals do not change. Which means vacations or excused absences hinder you from meeting expectations in many cases and must be considered when planning time off. Direct management seems to be powerless when it comes to getting better pay.
