Pros

Work with Psych/Altered Patients everyday Learn great communication and de-escalation skills MOAB, Handcuff, and OC Gel Cert Differential pay depending on shift Open-door policy with managers Great benefits with job (insurance, 403-b, college tuition reimbursement, etc)

Cons

High rate of injury High risk : Low pay ratio Lack of communication through department (officers & supervisors) Most shifts run short Medical staff expects more then what security is required to do Per Diem officers do not pick up available shifts Lack of opportunities for overtime pay Lack of ability for promotion New hires lack experience/knowledge in medical security field

Thank you for your candid feedback. We encourage our employees bring concerns to a manager promptly and without fear of retaliation. If that meeting doesn't bring resolution, or if their original concern involves their supervisor, they are encouraged to move freely up the management tier. When it comes to meals and breaks, Middlesex Health is legally required to follow the Labor Commission's guidelines and faces repercussions otherwise. ( ctdol.gov) Thank you once again for your feedback.
