Pros

They offer a Benefits package

Cons

Very low salary for a seasoned admin with all the skills/duties required. $15 is the going rate for a receptionist in the valley

Pros

I will always have the highest respect for Dr. Goeppinger (Dr. G) our recent President & CEO over 30 years. She never forgot a name, and was the only employer I ever had who cared so much about employees, with the 10% retirement contribution, the annual Thanksgiving & Christmas gifts, other nice dinners and parties. And as busy as she was, she still made time to reach out with kind words of comfort when I lost my beloved pet. So I was shocked to read any negative remarks, but I guess every organization has disgruntled employees. And Dr. G gave many of them a second chance too. So this is the by far the best employer I’ve ever had, and I will always be grateful to Dr. G. I’ve worked at MWU almost 20 years, and everyone I know was devastated to hear she retired. The reason was not divulged, so it’s not our business to know, but it will be hard to fill her shoes.

Cons

Like any organization, we have some mid-level managers who know nothing about the jobs of those they manage, or the excessive workload on employees.

Pros

Stuck in the past, if you enjoyed the 2000's and want to relive it

Cons

Any employee with ideas or hope for improvement is punished and made to feel ostracized. The administration is more interested in insulating themselves from students and low-level employees so that they do not have to deal with the consequences of their disastrous policies and skyrocketing tuition.
