Pros

Salary and benefits. Nice location but constantly (10+ years) under construction.

Cons

Administration micromanages nearly every situation. Growth of institution has been exponential, but seemingly without regard for the burden on current programs. New departments get state of the art facilities; existing programs basically ignored. Decisions about resources (teaching space, offices, building design) made without consulting end-users before implementation. Very top-down corporate environment, a poor fit for academia, including strict "core business hours" which thwart faculty freedom and creativity. No attempts to facilitate faculty members' ability to maintain even a minimal a clinical practice as part of overall faculty role. Students ask about and comment on this last issue frequently.

Pros

nice clothing given by President. promotes healthy lifestyle and work/life balance. if you are comfortable working for a supervisor who is a "puppet" and a numbskull you may be happy here.

Cons

questionable practices of accounting basics...if you are comfortable working for a supervisor who is a "puppet" and a numbskull you may be happy here. HR officials DO NOT check both sides of an issue before issuing/supporting discipilinary actions...management thru gossip. Focus energy and attention to the staff members PASSIONATE about their work and not just sittin' around crying about everything. Don't be fooled by the "nice-nice" behaviors that you see :: and keep your mouth shut if you want to keep your job: even if regulations are being violated....caused too much anxiety for this hard working technician ("mentor").

Pros

Drive to work was quick.

Cons

The buildings and what you see all look nice until you are actually are working there. You are just a warm body working they do not care anything about you. If you ever question anything even once you are black listed. Save your dignity and go some where else. Decisions they make are all for themselves to make money, you are nothing.
