Pros

People are like a family

Cons

Regardless of what level the issue is but upper management managing by metrics instead of results is destroying the brand.

Milgard started as a family business and we enjoy hearing that people still view their co-workers as family members – this illustrates our cultural belief of Valuing People! Milgard has always taken great pride in providing exceptional customer service to all of our customers. We have a dedicated team that is focused on soliciting feedback from our customers to determine their interests and wants around our products. We value our customers’ input and depend on it to aid us in continuing to grow and excel. And we thank you, as well, for talking to us about your own observations. We’re listening! And we value your input!

Lack of leadership and planning.

Pros

At the corporate office the people are nice. They have decent benefits and there was up until recently a bonus program. The hours are flexible.

Cons

So many cons for this company. There are two major problems from my point of view. Lack of leadership and lack of planning. Everything here seems to be based off of knee jerk reactions and some of the management is disconnected from their departments. A lot of people are either on their phones, on the internet or sometimes falling asleep at their desks. Morale and motivation is at a low and the mps review system promotes mediocrity. The ERP budget has eaten a lot of the profits up and the company is now struggling. The President is stepping down and a former VP left a couple months prior. The parent company seems to be stepping in and will start to make changes to right this ship.

We thank you for your feedback and observations, which are valued and appreciated. In the spirit of Milgard’s cultural belief of Clear Intent, we would ask that you talk to us directly – either your Supervisor or your Milgard HR representative will happily discuss your input, opinions, and ideas. In that way we can effectively and appropriate address your issues. We agree, in 2016 we’ve seen some big projects initiated that has resulted in some significant changes. But with change comes the opportunity to better align ourselves for success and we feel we are appropriately aligned to tackle 2017 to achieve our greatest success yet! Thank you for your comments and your willingness to share them with us!
