Pros

Fun and social culture, happy hours/parties/events, wellness perks, good benefits, pto, company located in a beautiful area, doesn't feel "corporate-y"

Cons

The company lacks in professionalism. They encourage work-life balance and a fun environment, but it leads to a lack of focus and drive from employees. HR felt nonexistent. Feedback to leads and management was unwelcome/not received well. Micromanagement. Hire a lot of inexperienced cal poly grads that aren't serious about their career. In addition, the pay is low and doesn't match the cost of living for the area. Some management (within sales) are very unprofessional and treat employees like they're in a rat race. Recently went on a firing spree, high turnover and employees fear they are about to lose their jobs. Management doesn't know how to motivate toward success, instead they attempt to motivate by using fear. Also, they claim to "promote from within" but they make it challenging to transfer to other roles within the company, and this is not the only core value they don't stick by.

We definitely hear you. Some of the Cal Poly grads may not be as tenured as other employees, but MINDBODY doesn't want to turn away young talent, especially if they are looking to start a career and grow both professionally and personally in the MINDBODY family. It sounds like sales wasn't the right fit for you here and there’s no harm in that, only I’m sorry you didn't have the best experience. I don’t know of another department that gives more incentives than sales does (iPad giveaways, day trips, cash, lunch with the VP of sales, etc). It’s certainly a high risk/high reward job. We wish you the best of luck in your search and hope you will come back to apply for another position within the company!

Pros

The people. It's a great community of friends and like-minded individuals.

Cons

Pay is well below industry standard. Very culty. Feedback you think is confidential may not always be and can be used against you.

Thank you for this feedback. This is one of those comments where we hang our heads a little lower, realizing that we may have missed the mark on how a project affects things on the back-end. We all sweat and work a little harder to get the job done for our clients, but I know that projects can always be better managed and proactive. This comment is appropriately titled as ‘Advice to Senior Management’ as they lay out the scope of a project and consider all involved. We do have a professional development class for managers given by our Director of HR and I know she’d find this feedback valuable. You can be sure I'll pass this along to her.

Pros

Amazing environment and culture, people are great and really care about each other and the job. Great benefits and great equipment and furnishings. Good management and executives that care about employee's work life balance and want you to promote and succeed and lots of growth potential. All together one of the most amazing places you can work for.

Cons

For my current position of Data Conversions Specialist, they pay about 10K less than the industry standard while insisting they are on par. This very site shows they are not, not to mention this is an expensive area to live in while getting paid less. Its true we are very well taken care of, I just don't feel like it should have to be a choice between getting well paid or well taken care of. If my wife had not had such a good paying job, I would not have even be able to except this one. don't get me wrong I'm glad I'm here but they need to get up to date with the pay scale/s, if the others are off. Not sure about other departments!

Thank you for your helpful review! MINDBODY strives to pay competitive wages factoring in the cost of living on the Central Coast. Our core value of continuously evolving is as much about evolving to meet the changing atmosphere of the technology world as it is about evolving as a company as well. Our culture, benefits, and pay are key factors in the bigger picture at MINDBODY as we drive forward into the future. Thank you for being a part of this growth and for speaking honestly about your frustrations. I've shared this review with the Data Conversions manager who can take the next steps in discussing this with the team.
