Great Place to Work!

Pros

A lot of talent is at this company, there is certainly mediocre employees that are here just for a paycheck but the opportunity to learn and grow from the talent around you is impressive. This is one of the few companies I know of where you can truly grow at, and evolve your "job" into a career. The benefits provided are great, especially for coming in on such a low tier type position.

Cons

It's easy to see that favoritism is at play and sometimes people impose their personal agenda/emotions into their decisions. My wife and I both work here and it's saddens me to see the difference in our experiences (everything from schedules, pay, to professional development appears to have suffered) . I no longer am in this position so cannot offer any insight as to why this has happened but even from another department I can tell that attrition is certainly plaguing that department. Factors I think that contribute to that: -Micro managing -Lack of true professional development -Favoritism -Lack of empathy and understanding for employees personal situations (we have a focus on wellness you know) -Inexperienced/unfavorable workforce scheduling -Unrealistic expectations -Assembly line production type attitude to taking calls. -Unneeded pressure from management on an already stressful position

Pros

Ability to move up, create own projects, grow in your career, determine own path, some good leadership in the Director positions (HR, CEO, CSMO), healthy work environment, pro family.

Cons

In the early days, there were quite a few people in leadership positions who were not qualified, too green, and unprofessional - created a lot of havoc for those of us having to work under them. Not a lot of structure even currently which makes it difficult to have any process (some departments).

Thanks for the feedback! We certainly value the development of our team members, and there are many opportunities to grow within the company. With growth, there are always changes and challenges that come with them, given that we're continuously evolving. Many processes and changes have been ongoing throughout the company over the years as we've made improvements in many different areas while maintaining our company culture.

Pros

Working at MINDBODY was a fantastic experience. The department I was in had down to earth managers that promoted a fun environment. Coworkers were generally intelligent, hard working, and top quality talent. Weekly massages payed for by the company (as part of the $65 monthly wellness voucher program) were a great perk. There were regular team activities like water balloon tosses, games, and such. The projects I worked on were exciting, and I learned a great deal while there. Overall, working at MINDBODY was awesome, and the experience I gained there professionally was top notch.

Cons

The core value assessment (CVA) process is excruciating; the announcement of it usually resulted in groans and putting off doing it as long as possible. The vast majority of managers I worked with were talented individuals doing a great job, but there were a few that, in my eyes, didn't live up to the company's core values.

Thank you for this review, and glad you are on to new adventures! I completely agree about the CVA process though it was recently re-vamped and improved to be more user friendly. Our Talent Acquisition Team is the go-to resource on career progression. We have published materials on that and host Open Office Hours exclusively for our internal team members on how to grow with the company and what steps they need to get there. We wish you the best of luck in your new position elsewhere and thank you for being a part of the MINDBODY family!
