      Pros

      - Core values are lived by at MINDBODY. This is why the staff is so great - they are chosen largely based on their alignment with the companies core values. - Health and Wellness is a large focus, so plenty of activities, classes, and opportunity to live a healthy, balanced life - Flexible work schedule (depending on position)

      Cons

      - Growing pains - Low pay overall (but good benefits). Typically appears to be that it's a good company to start your career at, but may not be possible to stay for a long time. Many people who have been at the company for 2+ years are at much too low pay and have not been brought up to the level the company is hiring at :(

At MINDBODY, we do our best to provide a compensation package that is as competitive as possible and base future wage increases on performance. We encourage you to have an open and constructive dialogue with your supervisor about your salary so they can provide more transparent information about what is available for increases, how and when increases are available, and what your options are for negotiating your pay. We also encourage you to discuss any wage concerns with HR if you feel you are not getting an appropriate response from your supervisor. As a growing company competing a tough SaaS market, agility and swift decisions are often needed, and sometimes at the expense of thorough communication. This is an issue we’re trying to resolve through videos from our CEO, and more stand up or town hall meetings within teams and departments. Thank you for your feedback and reminding us how important it is to communicate "the Why." We love Simon Sinek’s model on this style of communication and will do our best to keep improving in this area.

      Fun workplace; Terrible pay

      Pros

      It's an awesome company to work for. Generally young professionals. Plenty of recreational activities to do around the office (ping pong, Foosball, basketball) on your breaks. Also, $65 a month for wellness (massages, haircuts, yoga, etc...!) The CEO is friendly and a presence around the office, and the SLO area is hard to beat as far as a location.

      Cons

      Their payscales are insanely off. If you are applying, do some research about the average pay for your position, and then dock 40% off of it and that's what MINDBODY will pay. Its absolutely ridiculous. Most people don't mind because they love working here and all that core value BS. If you don't make a commission (which is everyone besides sales department), you are affected by this. It's MINDBLOWING how they seem to think the pay is fair for some of the positions (like my own, especially).

We welcome you to check out the salaries posted on our account and do some research for a position similar to yours. I think you will be happy to find that we are competitive with businesses in our area. We also hire at all levels, which means there is plenty of room to grow if you are starting in a more entry level position. We love to promote from within! May I suggest having a one-on-one with your manager about pay? We don’t want you to feel like you can’t have this conversation; the door is truly open for you to walk through and start a discussion with your supervisor. In the meantime, there are many opportunities available: cross-training, job enrichment, completing an Individual Development Plan (course designed to help our people meet their professional goals). I suggest taking advantage of some of these opportunities so you are prepared to take that next step!

      An outstanding work environment with only so-so pay.

      Pros

      Creative and fun work environment. Work life balance is outstanding as were the benefits. Their focus on health and wellness extends into providing lots of opportunities for their employees to be active. Working at MINDBODY had great community feel.

      Cons

      The Central Coast is an expensive place to live and unfortunately the salaries that MINDBODY offers don't always reflect that. There seems to be a reliance on Cal Poly as a source for cheap entry level work. The low pay and lack of experience shows itself in some departments with some unprofessionalism and bit of a lack of excellence. It also leads to a bit of turnover as people use the experience as a stepping stone to better paying work.

      Thank you for your taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I’m glad you are taking advantage of all the benefits and wellness offerings we have! San Luis Obispo is a beautiful place to live and the people here know it. Who wouldn't want to live 10 minutes from the beach and a farmer’s market every day of the week? Unfortunately it does affect the price tag as with any area close to the water. The trade-offs are huge though- mild weather, pet friendly parks, beaches (did I mention beaches?), great wineries, and all kinds of delicious local food. At MINDBODY we make sure to beef up the perks too so you can get a massage at work or take a long vacation if you need it. Cal Poly has many accolades, including a ranking from Business Insider as one of the top 20 colleges with the smartest students. We love that these smarties want to join MINDBODY’s mission and bring their talents here. A few youngin's here might be a little rough around the edges, but with our awesome management teams I know that they are growing!
