Pros

Very good pay and benefits, very solid safety culture and solid commitment to excellence, always looking for ways to improve the business, technology is average but functional.

Cons

Leadership on the local, regional and corporate level is draconian and profit is king. Work life balance is non existent, the reporting requirements are very heavy and cumbersome. Human resources is a functional arm of management and only interested in keeping corporate out of legal trouble. HR has never been helpful to the rank and file. Employees fired more often than any other company I had worked for. Local managers are terminated on a whim and there is no consistency. Constant reorganizations. They say they have standards of behavior but they only apply to the local workforce. Good people leave and have left because of all the above.

Pros

I have a job, but not one I look forward to going to anymore!

Cons

The entire focus of the company is on Operational Excellence, 5S, Kaizens, just to list a few, which leaves little time for actual work. I understand the importance to a point but this is overboard. I worked for the previous company Amcol prior to the MTI buyout. Amcol was an awesome company that stood for something and was a company that had ethics. You no longer feel like a person but a number. They don't pay bills on time, net 90+. Safety is subpar. There is no open, transparent, two way communications as preached by the company. The values are good on paper but that is as far as they go. No growth, buy good successful companies and bleed them dry!
