Pros
- great, quality products sold and used in services - opportunity for growth in the company
Cons
- sometimes you get no lunch break and you have to plan out a bathroom break and end up missing phone calls or making clients wait to check in/out. not legal in my state at all, but we're just encouraged to snack. - managers often work from home which leaves desk staff in charge of the salon, often times alone for 6-8 hours. you'll often spend the day being pulled in several directions by clients, techs and telephones due to understaffing. managers not being staffed on the desk often means fewer opportunity for training and coaching, which leads to inconsistencies in business. - Clients are allowed to verbally abuse/harass staff, thus robbing them of dignity and time (and time is money) . No real HR representation or policy on how to handle disruptive/abusive clients. - poor communication throughout company which leads to inconsistencies in services - you could often be asked to work on days off, particularly days requested off far in advance which is not fair - I applied for/ was granted full time employment which is legally 35 hours a week but i often only work just below 30 hours - gossipy environment, favoritism in the workplace
